Myth #1: Search engines are the answer.
On the Internet there?s a way of thinking that seems to say that search engines are the thing to aim at for website marketing. However recent wisdom prevailing search engines are just one single way of getting traffic. The main problem is that you cannot always rely on the search engines to send you copious amounts of targeted traffic.
Trying to work out how the search engines rank your website may waste hours of your life. Many of us go onto the search engines only to find out that our ranking has dropped massively. When it comes to trying to work out how the search engines work you can easily waste your time going around in ever increasing circles. Your time might be better off going out and getting the targeted traffic first hand.
Myth #2: It?s impossible.
I know a lot of people ask is the actual existence of targeted traffic a myth in itself or is it possible to get it? Targeted traffic is not impossible to get.
There?s plenty of ways that you can get targeted traffic including writing articles, exchanging links, giving away free reports and getting featured on another person?s list through a list exchange. Or writing an article for somebody else?s website and they?ll write one for your website. So is getting targeted traffic impossible no it?s a myth.
It is not impossible but it is often difficult especially if you don?t know what you?re doing.
Myth #3: Lots of traffic is the answer.
Reading this article relates that you understand the importance of targeted traffic. Just getting tons of traffic by itself is in most cases not the answer to your website challenges. The people that are already finding your website what about if you could convert more of them into buyers?
This can often be a more valuable use of your time. Importantly many of us get trapped in the notion that traffic of any variety is what is required. In reality the traffic needs to be by degrees targeted.
Myth #4: You have to pay for it.
You can get traffic almost instantly in as little as thirteen minutes and for just a few cents or dollars through the various tools and websites on offer right now.
There are so many greater ways to get visitors into your site that you don?t need to pay for traffic to your website.
Myth #5: There are no new ways to do traffic generation.
The general opinion out there says there are no novel ways to get traffic into your website. It is all about the search engines and links. The Internet is an extremely vast place and within its web of activity there is social book marking. It is an excellent way to get traffic and often overnight.
