New Zealand - a paradise lost!
New Zealand recent law against anti-smacking is just another charge along the road of self destruction brought on by leftist politicians and those pushing an atheist feminist nazi agenda.
When I was born in New Zealand it had a murder rate of about 3 people a year. It was a bi-cultural society proud of its British Empire roots and confident in its own ability. The country was predominantly Christian and very few classes differences were apparent - there weren't that many super rich and not too many poor. New Zealand was a middle class utopia. It had one of the worlds highest standards of living, low crime rates and good provisions of health and education (relative to the time).
In the 70's this was to change in a big way. A number of factors caused a massive change in New Zealand. The entry of Britain into the EEC meant New Zealand's traditional markets shut down over night. On top of that the oil shocks hit New Zealand hard - rampant inflation led to a drop in the standard of living and heavy borrowing. At this time New Zealand also experience a huge flood of immigration both in and out. A lot New Zealander's left for Australia and Auckland became the biggest Pacific Islander capital in the world. Please don't interpret this as a racist rant - rather the fact is whenever you have a large scale immigration from an alien culture who didn't have English as a first language you could expect a period of difficult adjustment. Factor in that many Maori lost their traditional jobs and you had the recipe of disaster. Many radicals saw the answer in blaming the current situation for past injustices and they demanded compensation under the treaty of Waitangi. What was once a united country became increasingly fractured into small self interest groups and ripe for manipulation by those interest in new social experiments.
Into this situation came government after government who took a recking ball to New Zealand society to now produce a country that is anti-christian. The recent anti-smacking bill is the latest incarnation of this new philosophy. The Bible clearly teaches responsible use of physical discipline. "Those I love I rebuke and discipline." Because New Zealand has one of the most disgusting rates of child abuse in the world the stupid morons on the left have decided that removing the right to smack your child will stop this. Gee - none of the other things they have done seemed to have helped - destruction of the family, removal of fathers in any masculine or fatherly role, same-sex marriage, soft on crime, removal of ethics based on the Bible.
Helen Clarke the current Prime Minister whilst 'married' has no children and wouldn't know family values if it hit her in the face. Some such as the closed brethren believing she was a closet lesbian pushing an anti-god lesbian agenda in disguise even went so far as to hire private investigators to try and prove the rumors true. I don't know why they bothered. Her private sex life is irrelevant - her actions as a political leader has shown her works.
My prediction for New Zealand's future. By removing the last shred Christian values (raising disciplined children) I predict a crime wave and social destruction of a scale never seen before in NZ. The current 'P' epidemic and the murder of two year old toddlers will pale compared to the future. The continuing gap between rich and poor and destruction of family values and real democracy (80% of NZ was against the bill) will lead to a revolution. Most revolutions come about when a certain group has had enough - they can either be powered by the sword (bloody revolutions - like the Russian Revolution, French Revolution, Pol Pot, etc) or run by the pen (like the Reformation, Abolition of Slavery, etc) but either way mark what you have read today - I believe there is a revolution coming to New Zealand - the only question is what shape will it take.
